How Renting Works
AgShared is the world's first national grower-to-grower site to rent and lease out high horsepower tractors, combines, and hay harvesting equipment. Renting on AgShared is easy.
1: Enter your zip code and find equipment close to you
You can use the search bar, click on categories or listings on the homepage, or even contact us directly and ask us to find you a piece of equipment to rent.
2: Find an interesting listing
On each listing, you should be able to see pictures and videos of interesting equipment. We also highly encourage listers to show recent maintenance records, so you have peace of mind that the equipment you receive is in good working condition.
3: Message the seller
Click on Message Seller to ask questions about calendar availability and arrange transportation. We do not currently provide transportation, but are working on offering this in the future. You will have to create an account or sign in to send a message.
4: Make an offer
Now that you found a good piece of equipment to rent and have your questions about availability and transportation answered, you can make an offer to the owner using an approximate start date, rental term, and offer price.
5: Enter your payment information
Don't worry, this won't be charged until your equipment arrives. This is a **one time setup**, so don't worry about having to do this every time.
6: Upload your insurance
We want to make sure every rental on our site is booked with peace of mind, so we ask that you upload your insurance documents. Now you're not on the line if anything happens to the equipment. This coverage should be property, liability or business insurance that covers (a) $1,000,000 combined single limits per occurrence; and (b) $500,000 combined single limits or full replacement costs for all property or physical damage.
7. Arrange transportation
You can arrange your own transportation, or use our helpful Trusted Dispatch app to get the maximum price you will pay for transportation. We can also help reach out to local flat-truck/trailer freight companies to arrange transport. Please keep in mind that renters assume responsibility for equipment once it is off of the owner's property, including in transit.
7: Wait for the rental to be approved by the owner
At this point, the owner can accept your offer. If they do, you can arrange transportation together, and wait for your equipment to arrive!
8: Rental completed
Once the equipment comes, we will process your payment. You and the owner can arrange transportation back, and that's it, job complete.
